VISIT WOLLOMBI, LAGUNA & MILLFIELD ON TOURIST DRIVE 33
The picturesque villages of Laguna and Wollombi are steeped in both aboriginal and convict history and are popular spots for romantic weekend getaways with a number of luxury accommodation venues as well as guesthouses, B&B’s and farm stay options.
Laguna is the southern gateway to the Hunter Valley and the Great Northern Trading Post (GNTP) is the first fuel stop after Kulnura and last before Broke or Millfield. The GNTP is open for lunch and coffee daily and has a fabulous weekend breakfast and dinner menu with live music on Friday nights.
The historic town of Wollombi is home to many annual events including Taste of Wollombi, The Wollombi Wild Ride, Wollombi Music Festival, The Country Fair and the Wollombi Boots ‘n’ Ballgowns. A number of cafes and restaurants, retail outlets, cellar doors and the Tavern all call Wollombi home.
Between Wollombi and Cessnock along Wollombi Rd is the town of Millfield that contains a general store selling fuel and supermarket supplies.
